May 14, 2012  Overseas Adventure Travel review from Dallas, Texas with 2 Comments: Check very carefully to see whether you are TRULY saving money on their last minute travel deals. Overseas Adventure Travel - Last minute travel deals May 10, 2019 @ Pissed Consumer. DO NOT travel with Overseas Adventure Travel. We paid in full for a trip to India and found out that they still plan to fly us via Air India after FAA has downgraded the airline due to safety concerns. OAT cares more about their bottom line than the safety of their customers.

I must preface my complaint by stating I've been a repeat customer and promoter of both OAT and GCT since my first trip with OAT a few years ago and, until this point, I've always felt it was a customer oriented and trustworthy company, however, recent events have made me wonder. On October 3, 2019, I booked '.,' travel dates March 24 through April 11, 2020, for which I made 3 payments: 10/3/2019: $1,349 (deposit and., Part A&B), 12/2/2019: $78.70,: $6,628 (final payment) totaling $8,055.70 which included premium air upgrade. On 3/3/2020, I called OAT to ask a question regarding my air itinerary. While speaking to. he mentioned he thought my departure had been cancelled, he put me on hold, and came back on the line to confirm my trip in fact had been cancelled and that the options I'd be given would be to re-book for a date next year or request a full refund which would be paid starting around April 12. Due to the uncertainty of when this current pandemic would subside, if and when a vaccine would be available, the fact that I'm of a certain age - who knows if I'll be alive in a year - and the unpredictability of my contract work dates, I would not be able to commit to a date about a year out in the future and decided to request a full refund as had been offered to me.

The following day, March 4, I received an email from. stating I would be receiving a full refund of my premium paid, $849. At that point, I was very impressed about how well both OAT and.

were handling my cancellation. On March 11, I called the company to make sure everything was in order with my cancellation and spoke to.

So far, these efforts have failed.Like you, we are incredibly frustrated by what has happened. With no warning, we learned the news the same day as the gaming public.Upon hearing the news, The Fun Pimps immediately terminated its license agreement with Telltale, which only allowed publishing rights on the console ports of the 7 Days to Die game. The termination also severed Telltale’s rights to any future updates or sequels of the 7 Days to Die franchise. In the weeks following, we've been working in good faith with the remaining management at Telltale to regain control over the console versions and allow us to provide support and updates on those platforms.

who reassured me I'd be receiving a full refund of $8,055 so I thought I'd just have of keep an eye on my credit card in April to verify the amount had been reimbursed. This gave me some financial peace of mind since I haven't had any paid work since the COVID situation escalated and those funds would come in very handy. When I received the March 30 email mentioning programmed re-bookings I thought it was an oversight that they'd sent that out since I had already, from the beginning, opted for a full reimbursement. When I received the second email that week, on April 3, I became very concerned when I read, 'In previous communications we sent about postponing your departure, we shared that you would receive a refund, followed by information about re-booking your trip for a 2021 departure.' Since I had not discussed re-booking with anyone previously, I called the company that very same day, April 3rd, and spoke to. She informed me that the company had recently changed the policies and I wouldn't be able to receive a full refund as promised before. then explained the options being given: receiving a voucher for future travel for the amount I'd paid or rescheduling my trip for 2021.

She mentioned I'd be receiving a new pre-reserved date for 2021, for the same itinerary and so on. I told her this was not acceptable because I had previously been told I would receive a full refund and was counting on it. was very professional as I reviewed my previous communications with the office but the answer was still the same, that I would not get a refund for the $8,055 I'd paid.I realize these are very trying times for the travel industry and can sympathize with it, however, a company with the prestige and high rating as OAT/GCT should not be going back on their promises especially to loyal customers who patiently worked with them through this difficult process. OAT did the responsible thing by cancelling the trips based on what we're hearing from the State Department, WHO, and many other entities, but it's not doing the right thing by their loyal customers by withholding funds they'd committed to reimburse. I sincerely had planned to schedule trips with them once the world returned to whatever the new normal would be but, in the meantime, I need my $8,055 back, please! I thank you in advance for your consideration to this very urgent matter.
